Habitantes y fachadas (Inhabitants and Facades)

DETALLES DEL PROYECTO

Habitantes y fachadas (Inhabitants and Facades) it is a project that starts from a dialogue with four inhabitants of a Housing Unit in Tijuana, Mexico. The participants, Sonia, teacher; Zaida, stylist, Mary, seamstress; and Reinaldo, Sociologist; They described her ideal home and based on these characteristics, Tania Candiani made a life-size elevation to intervene on the exterior of her homes.

The graphic elements of these designs were created from the memories of the houses in which the participants lived their childhood, emblematic objects of their childhood or the ideal space in which they would like to live; in order to establish a personal bond and to know their concepts about home, security, house, and family. As a result, these designs reflected that the participants’ ideal home was more related to their childhood than to an idea of higher status.
