Río rebelde, 2018, 99 aros para bordar, pintura acrílica, lienzo y tinta
Río rebelde (Rebel river) is a wall installation that re-signifies a musical notation code to exploit its possible discursive connotations.
Through circular black and white paintings framed in embroidery rings and lines drawn directly on the wall, this piece conjugates a reference to graphics and craftsmanship that at the same time replicates on a larger scale a “score” of a popular song coded for an artisan zither of 15 strings.
These references emphasize the relationships between the design of this instrument and its score with other visual codes of cartographic nature. There are four other songs about rivers, from different Latin American latitudes, which are part of these series.
