Studio Dust

2006

London, UK.

I went to London with a project based on collect dust and garbage of studios of artists. It was a sort of portrait without personage, through pictures of their cleaning instruments or their waste accumulation. So, I offered to sweep and clean artists' studios. I printed hundreds of flyers and it worked. I visited, swept, and gathered dust from 180 artists studios. Studio Dust is about the use and customization of the space. It is an investigation into what might be identified as hidden in the unconscious.

This series of photographs shows debris fragments of absences that shape and structure to the works of each of the artists, and also in the form of reminders and warnings, about decisions and recurrent purposes.
